Bogale fires Sidama past Insurance, Hadiya pip Adama

Sidama Coffee beat Ethiopian Insurance 1-0 on Wednesday in the first Ethiopia Premier League game of 2024.

Hadiya Hossana, meanwhile, defeated Adama City 1-0 in the day's other match-up to return to winning ways.

Ethiopian Insurance and Sidama Coffee played out a goalless first half in a keenly contested battle. 

However, Yigezu Bogale produced a moment of magic to lift the spirits of the Sidama faithful.

Bogale struck on 49 minutes, just four minutes into the second half to remind everyone of his poacher's instinct.

The win for Sidama Coffee moves them up to seventh on the log, a big move for a club that had been struggling all season. Ethiopian Insurance are 11th.

Hadiya Hossana, meanwhile, moved up to eighth position with their 1-0 win over Adama City. Adama remain in fifth spot.

Hadiya Hossana needed just eight minutes to get off the mark as Semere Haftey scored what proved to be winner for his team.
