St George, Ethiopia Coffee share honours, Wolaitta, Fasil goalless

The much-hyped Sheger derby clash between St George and Ethiopia Coffee ended in a 1-1 draw Saturday.

The second tie between Wolaitta Dicha and Fasil City ended goalless with both games at Hawassa International Stadium

Ethiopia Coffee got their fans into a frenzy early in the first half when MohammedNur Nasir gave them a 16th minute lead to go 1-0 up

The dominated the first half but couldn't add to their tally but were caught out just before the break when St George found an equalizer.

It was a swift counterattack with Frimpong Kwane at the end of the sweeping move to score for 1-1.

Both sides went into the break tied at 1-1with the Stadium going loud to the rafters as the St George fans found their voices.

The second half was a bit more balanced as St George worked their way back into the game creating more chances.

Ethiopia Coffee tried to rally but it became a much cagier game as it progressed, and both settled for a point each.

Fasil remains in 6th position with Wolaitta in 13th place, but the big movers are of course, Ethiopia Coffee who go 3rd with 51 points, but St George remain in 5th position.
