Durban City's positive run of form saw them climb to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship this weekend, while Cape Town Spurs’ winless streak extended to nine matches following their latest defeat against Highbury.

In what was a notable fixture in matchday 13 in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this weekend, Durban City recorded a convincing 3-0 win against Leruma United at the Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

After jotting down back-to-back victories in their last two encounters, Durban City toppled Milford to first position on the log, with the latter recording a 1-1 draw alongside Black Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.

JDR Stars made the second position their own this weekend after a nervy 1-0 win against Hungry Lions at the Soshanguve Giant Stadium.

The Pretoria outfit is currently on three-match winning streak, with 25 points to their name after 13 matches played.

Further down the standings, Cape Town Spurs’ woes continued in South Africa’s first division after suffering a 1-0 loss against Highbury at the Gelvandale Stadium on Saturday.

Stuck in 14th place on the table, the Urban Warriors are without a win in their last nine league ties and have accumulated just 10 points from 13 fixtures so far.
