Cape Town City have officially confirmed the arrival of Namibia international Prins Tjiueza, some six months after he was due to move to the club.

Tjiueza, 22, who will wear the number 21 next season, was set to sign in January, but an ankle injury picked up at the Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast meant he would miss the majority of the remainder of the 2023-24 DStv Premiership season.

City therefore delayed his arrival, though they did sign compatriot Aprocius Petrus, who had a large role in the second half of their campaign, and remains at the club.

Petrus is a defensive midfielder, but Tjiueza an attacking playmaker, with the hope he can bring goals to a side that battled to find the back of the net in the second half of the campaign, slipping from second place in the league to fifth and missing out on continental football.

Tjiueza arrives from Liria Prizren in Kosovo, where he spent two seasons. Petrus, 24, had come from the same European club.
