Arrows gear up for SuperSport challenge

Golden Arrows will have a task on their hands when they go up against SuperSport United in the Betway Premiership at the Mpumalanga Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Golden Arrows have had a challenging start to the season, winning their first two games but then going on to losing four matches in a row across all competitions.

Their latest league match saw them lose 2-0 to Chippa United away.

Abafana Bes’Thende have conceded 10 goals so far, an unwanted statisti, but will be looking to bounce back against SuperSport United.

They are currently sitting in 10th place in the Betway Premiership standings.

SuperSport United have also had mixed results in recent days.

However, there’s light at the end of the tunnel for Gavin Hunt’s side as they got vengeance against Kaizer Chiefs, defeating them 1-0 in their last league match.

WHAT WAS SAID

Matsatsantsa coach Gavin Hunt has shared what he thinks about Tashreeq Morris’s progress since he joined the Tshwane side, ahead of the match against Arrows.

“I think he has been fantastic. He hasn’t played for almost a year, and he only trained with us for about two to three weeks,” said Hunt. 

“H has been so good for us, he could have got a few goals for himself.”

“But we can’t put too much pressure on him because he hasn’t trained for too long. He has played three games in six days, his performances were satisfying,” he added.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Knox Mutizwa, Golden Arrows - The Zimbabwean has a goal in the Betway Premiership and will be looking to add to his tally in this clash. Since Abafana Bes’Thende have struggled to find the back of the net lately, the team will be in dire need of fire power.

Tashreeq Morris, SuperSport United - The experienced striker had not played football in a while before joining SuperSport but has already netted a goal for the side. He’ll be hoping to continue his good form in the task against Arrows.
