Proteas win toss and bat in first ODI

South African captain, Temba Bavuma, won the toss and chose to bat first in the first of three one-day internationals against Ireland at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

 

The experienced Rassie van der Dussen returns to the Proteas middle order in place of Aiden Markram, who has begun preparing for the test series in Bangladesh later this month while there is place for just one specialist spinner in Bjorn Fortuin.


IRELAND:  Paul Stirling (captain), Andy Balbirnie, Curtis Campher, Harry Tector, Stephen Doheny (wkt), George Dockrell, Andy McBrine, Mark Adair, Craig Young, Graham Hume, Gavin Hoey.
