The start of the T20 Challenge tie between the Multiply Titans and the Auto Investment North West Dragons has been delayed due to inclement weather at SuperSport Park, Centurion, on Tuesday.

The rain descended upon the stadium after the team captains had met in the middle for the toss, which the home side won and elected to field first.

The third-placed Titans will be looking to get back to winning ways as the contest for the top four spots of the T20 Challenge heats up.

In their previous match, Mandla Mashimbyi's side fell victim to Rilee Rossouw and Jacques Snyman's hitting.

The duo were going at strike rates above 200 as they scythed the Titans’ bowlers at their home ground.

The Free State side followed that up with some good bowling and not even the rearguard fightback from Donovan Ferreira, Corbin Bosch and Dayyaan Galiem could help the Titans.

Mashimbyi's team will be looking to bring smiles to the faces of their home fans in their final home game in the league stage of the T20 Challenge.

However, their opposition is the high-flying Dragons, who have only lost a single match in the T20 Challenge.

The Bloemfontein side has won the same number of matches as log leaders DP World Lions, but is in second place because the Lions have a bonus-point win under their belt.

The Wihan Lubbe-captained side has won four of their five games. Unfortunately, the loss was in their last encounter, which was against the Warriors.

The bright spark from that match was Janneman Malan's unbeaten 111 off 60 deliveries.

The Proteas player struggled to engage his power-hitting side earlier in the season and largely played an anchor role.

However, now that he has found that fifth gear, the opener could terrorise bowling attacks.

The Dragons have two batters on the list of the top three run-scorers of the season. Malan and Lubbe.

The pair have applied their experience well and led with distinction.

More of the same will be needed as they square up against a side stacked with power hitters.

Lhuan-Dre Pretorius has shown his ability to make full use of the powerplay while Heinrich Klaasen and Donovan Ferreira can launch the ball to all areas around the park.

Despite being in third place, the Titans have the best net run rate in the league.

No other side has been scoring as quickly as the side from SuperSport Park.

The Dragons' bowling attack, led by Kerwin Mungroo and Migael Pretorius, will have to be on the money more often than not if the visitors are to stand a chance.
