Mhlongo named as new coach of TS Sporting

GladAfrica Championship side TS Sporting have confirmed the re-appointment of former Bafana Bafana midfielder Benson Mhlongo as their head coach.

Mhlongo, who was a stalwart in the DStv Premiership with BidVest Wits, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, takes over with the team struggling in 14th place in the second tier and have having lost their previous four games before the long mid-season break.

The 41-year-old, who has previously worked as an assistant coach at Pirates and Black Leopards, replaces caretaker coach Tendai Tanyaniwa, who will act as his deputy along with Percyvell Nkabinde.

Mhlongo previously had a spell at the helm of the side at the start of the 2018/19 campaign.

His first game in charge on his return to the team will be versus Cape Town Spurs on February 19.
