Richards Bay will battle it out with a wounded Kaizer Chiefs side in Sunday's DStv Premiership match at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban.

Kick-off is at 3pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)

CURRENT FORM

The Natal Rich Boys claimed a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Moroka Swallows in a league clash at home on 6 April and the victory snapped their six-match winless run across all competitions.

However, Bay remain in the relegation playoff spot (15th) in the DStv Premiership standings - five points clear of 16th-placed Cape Town Spurs and nine points behind 14th-placed Moroka Swallows.

Meanwhile, Chiefs recorded a demoralising 2-0 defeat to Chippa United in a league match away on 6 April and the loss extended the Soweto giants' winless run to four matches across all competitions.

Furthermore, Amakhosi are occupying eighth in the DStv Premiership standings - three points behind seventh-placed Cape Town City and two points above 13th-placed Royal AM.

TEAM NEWS

Both teams have no suspension concerns coming into this encounter.

However, Chiefs are likely to be without the injured quartet of Keagan Dolly, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, George Matlou and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.

WHAT WAS SAID?

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe

“They [Richards Bay] are near the bottom of the log and fighting for their survival," Sithebe said.

"So it’s going to be a hard match, but we need those points just as much and therefore we will be going all out to beat them.

“We want to first secure our place in the top eight, but we want more than that. We still want to qualify for a CAF competition next season.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Khuda Muyaba, Richards Bay: The Malawian attacker will be brimming with confidence after scoring his first goal for the Natal Rich Boys against Swallows. Muyaba will be confident of finding the back of the net once again and inspiring his side to another win.

Yusuf Maart, Kaizer Chiefs: The experienced midfielder is the heartbeat of Amakhosi's midfield having grabbed an assist as they beat Richards Bay 1-0 in the first-round league clash last December and he could be key to another win over the Natal Rich Boys.
