Domingo signs for Cape Town City
Cape Town City have announced the signing of Haashim Domingo, who joins the club after a brief spell in Morocco and is the first of seven new signings that owner John Comitis has promised for the new season.
It is a return to his hometown for the bustling midfielder, who has played in Portugal and was a three-time league champion with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Domingo began his career as junior at Ajax Cape Town but left before making a first team debut, moving to Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal. There he played second division football the club and also had a loan spell in Norway before returning to South Africa.

He was at Bidvest Wits for two seasons before Sundowns bought him in mid-2020.
His three seasons at the club delivered three successive DStv Premiership titles before Domingo left for Raja Casablanca last year.
Domingo, who turns 29 in August, featured in a third of Raja’s league matches this past season, under former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer, and won yet another league title but after a single season has made the move to Cape Town.
City are looking to strengthen their squad for the new season after a threadbare squad struggled through the second half of the season. They finished fifth and will compete in the MTN8 in August.
