Wolaitta stop Ethiopia Nigd, Fasil's Kebede downs Wolkite

Ethiopia Nigd Bank's fairytale run in the Ethiopia Premier League came to an end on Friday as they lost to Wolaitta Dicha.

Ethiopia Nigd dominated proceedings in the first half but just couldn't break the resilient Wolaitta defence with the first half ending goalless.

Azariyas Abel broke the deadlock in the 51 minute to lead his team to a 1-0 victory.

However, Ethiopia Nigd still lead the table following the failure of Mekelakeya to win their last game.

Fasil Kenema also beat Wolkite City by a lone goal in Friday's other match-up at the Adama Science and Technology University Stadium.

Striker Getaneh Kebede, who left Wolkite City for Fasil Kenema, scored his fifth goal of the season to propel Fasil to victory over his old employers.

The win for Fasil Kenema moves them to fifth place on 17 points with Wolkite remaining in 14th.
