Dire Dawa pile misery on Wolkite, Hawassa and Hadiya draw

Dire Dawa piled more misery on Wolkite City in the Ethiopia Premier League on Sunday, while Hawassa City and Hadiya Hossana played out a 1-1 draw,

It was a day of mid-table battles with a bit more than a tinge of relegation worries to boot.

Hawassa got off to a good start with a ninth minute goal by Melese Mishamo to give them a 1-0 lead

However, their advantage was short-lived as after Hadiya Hossana found the equaliser 27 minutes later through Tsegaab Yohanis.

It finished 1-1 at the Adama Science and Technology Stadium with the two sides sharing the points.

Dire Dawa, meanwhile, owe their win over Wolkite to a goal by Charles Muslige on the half hour mark. It was a deserved reward for his endeavors this season and a huge win for them.

Sunday's results leave Hadiya Hosanna in ninth spot, Dire Dawa in 10th and Hawassa City in 11th with all three tied on 19 points each.

Wolkite are in relegation waters on 10 points and in 14th place.
