DDC WRAP: Chiefs edge Gallants to maintain to spot, Pirates back to winning ways

Kaizer Chiefs continued their impressive form with a 1-0 victory over Marumo Gallants, securing their position at the top of the DStv Diski Challenge.

Matala Makhubo continued with his fine form, scoring the solitary goal for Amakhosi in Bloemfontein on Saturday to prolong Marumo Gallants' winless run.

Chiefs will spend another weekend at the top of the log as they have accumulated 33 points from 14 matches.

With Mamelodi Sundowns breathing heavily in Amakhosi's necks as they are second with 32 points from the same number of matches, it promises to be another interesting season.

Sundowns defeated TS Galaxy 2-1 in Mpumalanga to keep up with the leaders at the top.

Ntokozo Siquba and Onele Rulwana, another impressive youngster who has been in fine form, scored for Sundowns stretching their unbeaten run to 10 successive matches.

CAPE TOWN CITY 0-2 SUPERSPORT UNITED

SuperSport United made it four victories in a row as they went to Cape Town and defeated The Citizens 2-0.

In another match, Orlando Pirates finally returned to winning ways when they defeated Polokwane City 2-1 at Isak Steyl Stadium.

Siphamandla Msezane scored twice, ensuring the Buccaneers ended their three-match winless run.

After 14 matches, the Pirates are sitting in position eight on the log with 22 points.
