Binyam Belay, Yosef Tarekegn bag top season awards
Binyam Belay of St George has won the best player of the season award for the 2022/23 BetKing Ethiopia Premier League season, and Yosef Tarekegn of Adama City won the award for the best young player of the season.
The Ethiopian Premier League 2022/23 Stars of the season award and closing ceremony was held at Addis Ababa Hyatt Regency Hotel and the outstanding performers were duly recognised.
In the category of the best player of the season, St. George's Binyam Belay took the honours. Binyam Belay recognised for his pivotal role in the League title win of "the Horsemen."
The other interesting award, was the young players honour with most purists convinced that Yosef Tarekegn of Adama City, was the deserving winner of the best young player of the season category.
Goalkeeper Abubakar Nuri is one of the players who helped Ethiopia Insurance to finish 3rd in the league table this season.
Abubakar Nuri played all 30 games in the season and won the goalkeeper of the season category.
Zerihun Shengeta, who made St George the League champion for the second season in a row, was once again selected as the best coach of the Ethiopian Premier League.
Best Referees of the season were also awarded at the program held at Hyatt Regency, and Federal Referee Binyaam Woldeagegnehu was chosen as the best Referee of the season.
International Assistant Referee, Tigel Gizaw was chosen as the best assistant referee of the season.
The League participant clubs received their cash prizes as their rank and the stadiums where the league was held.
