Amanda Serrano defeats Heather Hard again

Undisputed woman’s world featherweight world champion Amanda Serrano 45-2-1; 30 retained her title against the tough Heather “The Heat” Hardy 24-3; 4 over for ten rounds at the American Airlines Centre in Dallas, TX, on Saturday night.

A multi-divisional world champ, Serrano, scored with her stiff jab, left and right hooks to the head and body throughout as Hardy had no answer to her style,

This was her second win against Hardy.

SHONGO IWATA RETAINS TITLE

The WBC No 2 woman’s light flyweight Shonga Iwata won on a sixth round technical knockout against the WBO No 3 light flyweight, the Filipino southpaw Jason Brillo at 1:28 of the sixth round in a scheduled ten on Saturday in Tokyo, Japan.

However Iwata battled against the taller Filipino southpaw.

Brillo was knocked down twice.

Former WBO 105-minmimumweight Masataka Taniguchi suffered a fractured jaw, but endured the pain to win on a majority decision over Kenichi Horikwa.

ROBERT HELENIUS WINSD IN THREE

Former heavyweight contender Robert Helenius 32-4; 21 stopped the previously unbeaten 41-year-old Mika Mielonen 6-1; 6 in the third round on Saturday night at the Operastage Olavinlinna in Savonlinna, Finland.

Helenius is 39-years-old.

ELIJAH PIERCE WINS ON A KNOCKOUT

Junior featherweight Elijah Pierce 18-2; 15 who is rated at WBC No 14 and WBO No 15, knocked out IBF No 14 Mike Plania 28-3; 15 in the third round on Friday night at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

A big left hand caught Plania on the chin and sent him down on his back.

Time was 53.seconds as Pierce won the WBC OTX title.

DERRIECK CUEVAS WINS ON FOURTH ROUND TKO

Derrieck “Pretty Boy” Cuevas 26-1-1; 18 who is rated at WBA No 12 and WBO No 14, welterweight won on a fourth-round technical knockout over local fan favourite Alberto “Metralleta” Mosquera 28-6-2; 16 on Friday night at the Coliseo de Combates in Panama City, Panama.

Cuevas scored two knockdowns in round two and also cut Mosquera over his right eye.

The bout was called off due to the cut in round four..

Time was 2:36.

WBA No 8 super middleweight Uwel Hernandez 16-1,;9 won on a second round knockout against Rodolfo “Poroto” Juarez 21-9; 15 with a big left to the body, to claim the vacant WBA Gold Super Middleweight title. Time was 1:48.

Light flyweight contender WBC No 9 and WBO No 12, Azael “Candellila” Villar 19-2-3, 15 and WBO No 15 Gerardo “Cascabel” Zapata 14-1; 5 fought to a ten round draw.

The scores were 96-94 Zapata, 96-94 Villar and 95-95.

JORDAN WHITE KNOCKS OUT ERIDSON GARCIA IN THE FIRST ROUND

Junior lightweight Jordan White 15-1; 11 smashed the previously unbeaten Eridson Garcia 17-1; 11 to defeat in the first round on Friday night at the Wind Creek Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. A massive counter left hook sent Garcia. down and out. Time was 1:57.

In a battle of unbeaten featherweights, Julian Gonzalez 11-0-1; 9 outpointed Johnny Spell 8-1; 4 over eight rounds. Scores were 78-74, 78-74, 79-73.

PADRAIG MCCRORY WINS ON TEN ROUND DECISION

WBA No 4 and WBC No 15 super middleweight Padraig McCrory 18-0; 9 won on a ten round unanimous points decision over Steed Woodall 18-2-1; 11 on Friday night, outdoors at Falls Park in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

McCrory scored a knockdown when Woodall’s glove touched the canvas in the eighth round.

Scores were 96-93, 96-93, 98-92.

Junior welterweight Sean McComb 17-; 5 outpointed Alejandro Moya 17-2; 10 over ten rounds.

The scores were 97-93, 97-93, 99-92.
