Red Arrows extend lead in MTN Super League
Red Arrows have extended their lead at the top of the MTN Super League to three points after they claimed a 1-0 victory on Saturday and their two closest rivals were held to a 1-1 draw.
Arrows claimed victory at NAPSA Stars after an early goal after five minutes by Ackim Mumba was enough for the three points.
They are now clear of ZESCO United, who could only manage a 1-1 draw at Green Eagles, having to come from behind in that game to claim a point.
Aaron Musore had Eagles ahead after four minutes, before John Chingandu scored for ZESCO just past the hour-mark.
Defending champions Power Dynamos are five points back from Arrows after they claimed a slender 1-0 success at home to Green Buffaloes, Joshua Mutale scoring the only goal of the game.
Nkana FC moved out of the bottom four for virtually the first time this season as they won 2-1 at bottom side Trident.
Jacob Ngulube and Austin Banda gave the visitors a 2-0 lead, before Peter Musukuma jangled some nerves by pulling a goal back for Trident five minutes from the end.
Chipo Sondashi scored the only goal as FC MUZA continued their recent revival with a 1-0 win at Forest Rangers, and Erick Etienne was on target for Konkola Blades in a 1-0 success at home to Kansanshi Dynamos.
Vandelin Eloundou scored after two minutes to give ZANACO a 1-0 success at Prison Leopards, and Nkwazi were 1-0 winners at home to Kabwe Warriors thanks to Stephen Mutama’s second-half goal.
