Tasty fixtures in Motsepe Foundation Champs
This week’s Motsepe Foundation Championship kicks off at the Pietersburg Stadium, with Magesi and Cape Town Spurs set to do battle on Friday afternoon.
Magesi recorded maximum points in their opening league fixture, seeing off Venda Football Academy in a 1-0 win on their own patch, while Cape Town Spurs found themselves having to fight for a result in a 1-1 stalemate against Pretoria Callies in the blistering Atteridgeville heat.
On Saturday, Hungry Lions host Callies at the Sivos Training Center Stadium, as they look to make it two wins on the trot. Hungry Lions faced tough competition in the form of Black Leopards last week but managed to come away with a 1-0 victory.
All Stars will look to make it two wins out of two when they welcome Baroka FC to Brakpan, with the tie set to take place at the Tsakane Stadium. All Stars got their league campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 win over Platinum City Rovers, while Baroka will look to bounce back after their 2-1 defeat to Uthongathi.
With both teams looking for their first win of the season, Polokwane City and Black Leopards will do battle at the Pietersburg Stadium, while JDR Stars face Casric stars Shoshanguve Giant Stadium. Elsewhere, the Thohoyandou Stadium will see Venda Football Academy and Platinum City Rovers go toe-to-toe in search of their first points of the season.
On Sunday, the Thohoyandou Stadium will once again see some action as TTM and MM Platinum Stars square off in Limpopo while the University of Pretoria make the trip down to Durban where they will face Uthongathi at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
