Cape Town Spurs climbed to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table this week, following their 3-2 win over Baroka FC at the Athlone Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

With the Motsepe Foundation Championship writing a new storyline every week, the Urban Warriors took centre stage in the latest list of fixtures, as they hit the summit of the competitive division.

Spurs' impressive home run has been the basis of their success this season and recorded their 10th straight victory on their own patch.

A brace from Therlo Moosa and goal from on-loan starlet Boitumelo Radiopane was enough for the Mother City outfit to claim maximum points this week.

In making way for Spurs, Polokwane City suffered a 1-0 defeat to Casric Stars at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Rise and Shine occupied top spot prior to their latest game and will now head into the next game week in second place.

Casric Stars' victory kept them within four points adrift of the top and are currently in third spot on the table.

Elsewhere, Black Leopards bagged a rare win against Magesi and claimed all three points at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday.

As a result, Lidoda Duvha picked up their first win in 16 league encounters and are now nine points from Magesi in 14th place.
