ZESCO go clear at the top of the MTN Super League

ZESCO United moved three points clear at the top of the MTN Super League table with a 2-0 victory over Power Dynamos as they returned to winning ways for the first time in four matches on Saturday.

Goals from Samson Ngoma and Denis Nya sealed what could be a crucial win for ZESCO as the gap between the top teams in the division tightens up.

Green Buffaloes moved into second place with a 2-1 win at NAPSA Stars.

Simon Nkhata put Stars ahead, but goals from Lucky Bwalya and Perkins Mumba turned the game in the favour of the visitors.

Kabwe Warriors made it three wins in a row when they beat Lumwana Radiants 1-0 away from home.

Godfrey Binga's goal in the first half sealed the points.

ZESCO have 25 points from their 12 games, while Buffaloes, Warriors and Dynamos all have 22.

Champions Red Arrows slumped to a surprise 1-0 loss at Nchanga Rangers that is a serious dent to their title hopes.

Laurent Ntambwe Mwanza scored the only goal of the game early in the second half.

Simon Mulenga scored two penalties, including one in injury-time at the end of the game, as Green Eagles defeated bottom side Indeni, who are still searching for their first win of the campaign.

In the other game on Saturday, Nkwazi and Zanaco played to a goalless draw.
