SuperSport is bringing viewers an incredible array of sporting action to start the month of ‘May-hem’.

Starting from Friday 3 May to Sunday 5 May, sports fans will be thrilled by seeing the Singapore Sevens tournament, the seventh leg of the HSBC SVNS world tour calendar.

The Springbok Women’s team clashes with the USA, France and Japan in the group stages, while the Blitzboks take on Spain, Samoa and France.

And that’s not all. The weekend will be packed with do-or-die knockout ties, as the business end of sporting competitions comes to a crescendo.

In the EPCR Challenge Cup, our only remaining representatives in the competition, The Sharks, tackle Clermont in the semifinals held at Twickenham Stoop on Saturday at 13:30. In the other EPCR Challenge Cup semifinal, Gloucester take on Benetton at 16:00 on the same day.

In the Investec Champions Cup semifinals, Leinster take on Northampton Saints on Saturday at 18:30, while Stade Toulousain (Toulouse) and Harlequins do battle on Sunday at 16:00 for the right to be in the final.

On the football field, the top three teams on the DStv Premiership’s current standings will all be in action during the Nedbank Cup semifinals as Chippa United face Orlando Pirates on Saturday at 15:00, while Stellenbosch FC will try to take down Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday. Both matches will be live on SuperSport PSL (DStv Channel 202).

Meanwhile, the English Premier League title race is going down to the wire as Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool look to claim the ultimate prize.

The Gunners enter the weekend in pole position, a point ahead of second-placed City, who have a game in hand. Liverpool, who have lost some ground in recent weeks, are still in with an outside chance of claiming the title and giving outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp the perfect send-off.

SuperSport CEO Rendani Ramovha said: “This sporting weekend perfectly illustrates how much sport is available on SuperSport. The sheer array, the variety of sporting codes as well as what’s at stake, will keep viewers entranced by the action.

“More than the live sport, Chasing the Sun 2 – a Story for South Africa – remains available on DStv Catch Up for those who want to binge watch the entire five-part series this weekend. If it’s sports entertainment you’re after, there truly is no other world with as much drama and suspense than SuperSport this weekend.”
