Power Dynamos took a giant step towards the MTN Super League title with a 1-0 victory over ZESCO United on Sunday to open up a six point lead at the top of the table with five games remaining.

Ismaël Ankobo scored the only goal of the game on 51 minutes as Dynamos put themselves in firm control of the title race with a huge win in their season as they chase an eighth championship victory.

Dynamos have now won their last eight Super League games in a row, hitting top form at the right time in the season to pull clear of their title rivals.

In the only other game played on the weekend, Zanaco remain in deep relegation trouble after they lost 3-1 at home to Nkwazi.

Strikes by Richard Ocran and Christopher Zulu, and an own goal from Dalitso Phiri, took Nkwazi to the victory. Wilson Chisala scored what proved a consolation for Zanaco.

Zanaco are a single point above the relegation zone, while sixth-placed Nkwazi stay in contention for a Confederation Cup place next season.
