CBE too hot for Coffee, Insurance top Hambericho

Ethiopia Nigd Bank, otherwise known as Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, proved too hot for Ethiopia Coffee beating them 2-1 to go top of the table.

Ethiopian Insurance beat hapless Hambericho 2-0 in the other game.

The goals for Ethiopian Insurance coming in the 80th minute through Chukwuemeka Godson and a 90th minute strike by Yared Darza.

Ethiopia Coffee along with St George are considered Ethiopian football royalty but so far this season, there are new Sheriffs in town and CBE are one of them.

CBE shot into the lead in the 20th minute when former St George Striker, Addis Gidey scored for the Bankers.

Basiru Umar doubled the tally for CBE with their second goal 17 minutes later when he scored in the 37th minute.

Ethiopia Coffee pulled one back in the first half added time Kakooza Derick to take both teams into the break with CBE leading 2-1.

The second half was explosive but there were no more goals and CBE moved top of the table with 20 points, one place and one point ahead of Mekelakeya in second with 19 points.

Barhir Dar in 3rd place with 17 points and St George with 16 points complete the top 4 with Ethiopian Insurance rising to 8th on the log.

 Ethiopia Coffee are uncharacteristically 12th in midtable and Hambericho prop up the rear in 15th, just one place above bottom Club, Shashemene City.
