With matchday 12 of the Motsepe Foundation Championship on the horizon, the likes of Cape Town Spurs, Leruma United and Venda Football Academy will hope to get back to winning ways in their upcoming league assignments following an indifferent start to the 2024/25 campaign.

Sitting at the bottom of the table, Venda Football Academy head into their next league tie on the back of a three-match winless streak.

Venda suffered a 2-1 loss against JDR Stars at the Soshanguve Giant Stadium last time out and have accumulated just eight points from 11 matches played so far. Venda last tasted victory on the 26th of October, where they bagged a 3-2 win against Casric Stars at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

Nevertheless, Venda Football Academy are scheduled to face Pretoria Callies at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Also, 15th placed Leruma United are currently tied with Venda with the most defeats recorded so far this season (7), three of which came in their last five encounters. Leruma will hope to go one better than their 0-0 draw with Highbury last week when they take on Hungry Lions at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Sunday.

Cape Town Spurs current seven-match winless run saw them slump to 14th on the log, as they hope to get back in the winning column when they go toe-to-toe with JDR Stars at the Athlone Stadium on Friday afternoon.
