So just how bad was it to live in hotel isolation in a bio bubble and not be able to train as a modern professional rugby player.

Springbok prop Steven Kitshoff takes us behind the scenes and reveals how he kept fit while in isolation in a hotel room.

With no field training allowed, and a team full of COVID cases, the Springboks were isolated in their hotel ahead of the games against the British and Irish Lions and it wasn’t easy - especially for professional rugby players who are used to a lot more freedom and space when trying to keep fit.

Here Steven tells us how he “trained” while stuck in his hotel room.

Kitshoff almost missed the SA A game against the Lions after he returned a positive test - later confirmed to be a false-positive and had to drive to Cape Town from Johannesburg to be there in time for the game.

Here he talks about it publicly for the first time.

The Springboks’ journey in getting a fit and COVID free team onto the field against the Lions takes centre stage in the new ground-breaking documentary Two sides.

The first episode will be broadcast on Sunday (M-Net, 6pm; SuperSport, 7pm)
