AmaZulu have hit back at claims that star striker Bongi Ntuli has submitted a transfer request, saying the player is committed to the club.

A report on Wednesday suggested the 29-year-old wanted to leave the Durban-based outfit, but Usuthu say there is no truth in this.

“The story is plain and simple. A PSL club approached us two months ago, with a different agent from the one we know Ntuli to be represented by, and asked if we could talk of an offer. We rejected it,” AmaZulu General Manager Lunga Sokhela said in a statement.

“The matter is closed and we are not interested in this as well. Ntuli is committed to his contract with AmaZulu and that’s that.”

Ntuli was instrumental in steering AmaZulu to safety this season, netting 13 of the clubs 20 goals in the Absa Premiership campaign.

He arrived at the club ahead of the 2018/19 season and has 22 goals in 56 starts since then.

Ntuli also previously played for Lamontvile Golden Arrows, Mamelodi Sundowns and Platinum Stars.
