Argentina came out for that second half fired up and they earned this win. Wales will lament a lack of composure in crucial moments. This was an incredible arm-wrestle though and the final score doesn't reflect how close it was.
PENALTY, ARGENTINA, SANCHEZ, 17-29:
Sanchez slots the kick to end the match.
Wales just can't get away and Dyer is tackled into touch after the restart. The Pumas win the lineout and maul up.
CONVERSION, ARGENTINA, BOFFELLI 17-26:
Boffelli slots the kick to take the Pumas out to a nine point lead.
TRY, ARGENTINA, SANCHEZ, 17-24:
Sanchez has read Wales' attack like a book and he intercepts and sprints in for the crucial score that could send the Pumas into the Rugby World Cup semis.
Wales see the ball come off a Pumas hand as they attack and play is brought back for a scrum. Wales still have the ball.
Moroni makes the crucial intervention and now Argentina have to try to find a way to get out of their danger zone or just keep hold of the ball.
There is a TMO review as Rees Zammit dived in for the corner.
Argentina run into each other and a knock on will allow Wales to launch from the scrum. Wales win the penalty at the scrum.
Argentina exit well and then compete at the lineout which sees Wales knock on. Argentina have a scrum ten inside the Wales half.

Boffelli gives Argentina the lead.

Scalvi picks and goes and scores to tie things up.

There is another penalty to Argentina in the red zone and Wales are given a warning now.
The Pumas maul is held up after they set up the lineout but they have earned another penalty. They set up another lineout.
The Pumas have a penalty, but there is a TMO review. The referee overrules though. Dixon has made a good call. Now the Pumas have a decision to make.
Rees Zammit kicks long but his effort rolls dead and the Pumas have the scrum close to halfway.
The Pumas knock on as Carreras tries to gather a loose ball and Wales need a to scrum and get the ball back into the Pumas half where they will want to play.
CONVERSION, WALES, BIGGAR, 17-12:
Biggar converts.
TRY, WALES, WILLIAMS, 15-12:
The halfback Williams snipes and goes straight through to score.
Biggar switches play to the Pumas 22 with a penalty kick as the Pumas lose their discipline on attack.
The Pumas try a worked move but a little grubber in behind doesn't make it through and the Pumas have a lineout just inside the Wales half.
A little knock on gives Wales a let off but the Red Dragons then spill the ball. Argentina try to take advantage but cannot and they have to come back for the scrum to the Pumas.
A kicking battle ends when Biggar puts in a kick that rolls out on the Pumas ten just inside their own half where Argentina feed a lineout.
PENALTY, ARGENTINA, BOFFELLI, 10-12:
Boffelli slams a kick over from 55 metres out to give the Pumas the lead for the first time in the match.
Argentina have all the momentum now after securing a penalty which allows them to take a long shot at goal for the lead.
Malia calms things down with a mark and a touch-finder and they will seek to put the Wales lineout under pressure again.
PENALTY, ARGENTINA, BOFFELLI, 10-9:
We have a one-point game after Boffelli nails it.
Argentina attack with advantage and the Wales line is under siege again. They don't get over but have a penalty kick.
Argentina kick off deep and Wales are quick to clear. Argentina run it back and then Wales spill a kick into touch which gives the Pumas an attacking platform.
HALF TIME: WALES 10-6 ARGENTINA
Argentina started and ended the half well but will rue a period when their defence dropped off. Wales started to buckle as Argentina found their game late on. This one could go right down to the wire.
PENALTY, ARGENTINA, BOFFELLI, 10-6:
Boffelli slots the penalty kick after it was deemed that a Wales player went in late on a Pumas man off the ball.
Argentina have a penalty but play is stopped after a scuffle.
PENALTY, ARGENTINA, BOFFELLI, 10-3:
The signal comes from the touchline and Boffelli slots the kick.
Argentina attack well after the lineout and can attack with advantage. Wales do enough to stop them but they go back.
The Pumas drive Wales back with a penalty kick after a scrum collapse.
Wales get a penalty on halfway but that call is a bit suspect. Wales can't win their lineout ball again and the Pumas clear. Wales try to bring it back but lose it forward.
Argentina spill the high ball and Wales can feed the scrum. It goes down and the Pumas are in danger.
Now Wales win a penalty as Cinti is caught in possession but Biggar hooks his kick and the Pumas get a let-off.
The Pumas tap back the Wales lineout but Wainright gets onto it fastest. However he is isolated and Argentina win a penalty and clear their lines.
Lavinini is done for a tackle off the ball which doesn't get a replay and the crowd are not happy.
Wales are prepared to be patient and wait for the Pumas to infringe and it has worked a treat for them. Wales get a penalty but then lose the lineout and the Pumas counter-attack but Cremer knocks and Wales can take a breath.
PENALTY, WALES, BIGGAR, 10-0:
Wales lead by ten as Biggar slots the kick.
Argentina are defending well but they get caught offside and Wales call for the tee.
Biggar has stripped the ball and the Pumas knock on which will give Wales a scrum feed. He has a niggle afterwards and play is held up for a moment.
Argentina will feed the scrum after a Wales knock on just inside their half.
The Wales players jerseys all appear to be shedding their numbers which is creating a few problems. Wales are able to carry away from their 22 and send up the garryowen.
The referee is injured now. Jaco Peyper is going off the field with a calf complaint and Karl Dickson takes over.
CONVERSION, WALES, BIGGAR, 7-0:
Biggar has slotted the conversion.
TRY, WALES, BIGGAR, 5-0:
Biggar runs the support line to finish off but the build-up play made that try with a few great offloads.
The Pumas try to go wide after a loose pass in midfield but Boffelli knocks on out wide and now Wales have the scrum on halfway.
Wales dash away from a quickly-take goal-line dropout but opt to kick from their own 22 and don't find touch and the Pumas come back at them.
Wales probe the wide areas again and again Rees Zammit is in space but his kick ahead is marked by Boffelli. Argentina set off from deep and make metres until they lose it on the ground.
Boffelli misses the kick at goal and that leaves Wales with a 22m dropout and while the Pumas gather an attempted hoist goes straight into touch and Wales have a lineout just inside the Pumas half.
Argentina attack with advantage inside the Wales 22. They ran it out from the scrum and found space. The Pumas look sure to score but somehow Wales hold on and we go back for the penalty to Argentina and the tee is called on.
Wales find space out wide and Rees Zammit is away but his kick ahead is well gathered by Boffelli. Wales turn it over but knock on and Argentina feed a scrum just outside their 22.
The kick off is sent deep and gathered by Boffelli who is immediately smashed in the tackle but Argentina can clear up to halfway. There will be a Wales lineout.
