Full Time
FULL-TIME, FIIJI 23-24 PORTUGAL. A quite astounding match, with fortunes ebbing and flowing… both sides fighting to hard and producing some amazing running rugby and quite brilliant defending. Fiji make the quarters for the third time and Portugal claim their first ever Rugby World Cup win… the perfect result for neutral fans… and for those who don't mind seeing Aussies in pain. Great game for Maqala, Marques and especially Storti, the latter having lit up this World Cup with his brilliant running. It's been a magnificent even and RUGBY has most certainly been the winner tonight and rugby lovers everywhere should celebrate! Cheers and thank you for following the action of this incredible match with us!

Full Time
FULL-TIME, FIIJI 23-24 PORTUGAL.
79’
Commentary
Portugal claim the ball from the scrum and it's out to Portela… five seconds on the clock… he starts running back to his tryline, watching the clock… and is it hits 80 minutes he kicks the ball for all he's worth out of play… AND PORTUGAL WIN THEIR FIRST EVER WORLD CUP MATCH… AND FIJI ALSO GO THROUGH TO THE QUARTER-FINAL… what an astonishing end to a magnificent game! Well played to both sides.

Try
TRY, PORTUGAL, MARTA! 23-22; Great run down the blindside, Storti passing inside to Marta who takes a few strides and then dives over for the try! Could Portugal claim their first World Cup win?
77’
Commentary
YEEEEEEESSSSSS!
77’

65’
Commentary
Fiji clear the ball from inside their 22, but it's so high it hits the sky camera and bounces back into play so, it will be a Fiji scrum.
64’
Commentary
Fiji drive forward, only for Portugal to grab the ball and drive forward superbly, but the ball spills forward against a tackle and Fiji dive on the ball but the ref blows for a penalty and they kick to inside the Portugal 22 for a lineout.
62’
Commentary
Portugal kick deep from the scrum, and Fiji (now back to 15 men) drive back to the Portugal 10m… but Fiji are penalised for cleaning up from the wrong side of the maul.

It's Fiji, Fiji, Fiji, battering Portugal… the ball goes down the line and then a long pass to the touchline but it's forward.

50’
Yellow Card
YELLOW CARD, FIJI, BOTIA. The try-scorer is sin-binned for a head-on-head that catches Storti in the face… but the reading is that it is just a yellow due to the late step Storti took into the tackle.

Commentary
CONVERSION, FIJI, LOMANI! 10-10; Lomani evens the score with a conversion just to the right of the poles.
48’

Try
TRY, FIJI, BOTIA! 8-10; Levani Botia drives over for the score… but first Portugal had looked like they were about to score, only for Maqala to grab the ball and launch into a scintillating run all the way upfield, looking like he was about to score only to be brought down by Portugal, and from there the ball goes to Botia who powers over for the score.

What a try from this fantastic Portugal side.

Half Time
HALF-TIME, FIJI 3-3 PORTUGAL. A gruelling and battering 40 minutes of rugby, neither side giving an inch and Portugal having the better attacking opportunities.
