Portugal claim the ball from the scrum and it's out to Portela… five seconds on the clock… he starts running back to his tryline, watching the clock… and is it hits 80 minutes he kicks the ball for all he's worth out of play… AND PORTUGAL WIN THEIR FIRST EVER WORLD CUP MATCH… AND FIJI ALSO GO THROUGH TO THE QUARTER-FINAL… what an astonishing end to a magnificent game! PENALTY, FIJI, LOMANI! 23-17; He puts a heck of a lot of draw on that kick, but what matters is that is slices through the posts for an extra three points.
Fiji drive hard now to the halfway line, push ahead and go to ground, but Portugal are blown for holding and Fiji have a kick from in front of poles… from the 10m…

Fiji drive forward, only for Portugal to grab the ball and drive forward superbly, but the ball spills forward against a tackle and Fiji dive on the ball but the ref blows for a penalty and they kick to inside the Portugal 22 for a lineout.
Portugal kick deep from the scrum, and Fiji (now back to 15 men) drive back to the Portugal 10m… but Fiji are penalised for cleaning up from the wrong side of the maul.

YELLOW CARD, FIJI, BOTIA. The try-scorer is sin-binned for a head-on-head that catches Storti in the face… but the reading is that it is just a yellow due to the late step Storti took into the tackle.
CONVERSION, FIJI, LOMANI! 10-10; Lomani evens the score with a conversion just to the right of the poles.
TRY, FIJI, BOTIA! 8-10; Levani Botia drives over for the score… but first Portugal had looked like they were about to score, only for Maqala to grab the ball and launch into a scintillating run all the way upfield, looking like he was about to score only to be brought down by Portugal, and from there the ball goes to Botia who powers over for the score.

First Portela rises high to claim an up and under, then the ball is released fast and with assurance down the line… there's a grubber forward from Bettencourt and it bounces just right for Storti to grab and then slide home in the corner under two tackles! What a try from this fantastic Portugal side.
GREAT BREAK! Portugal win the ball and drive hard through Fiji on the right win, then spread it all the way to the left wing but right at the end there's a knock-on.

HALF-TIME, FIJI 3-3 PORTUGAL. A gruelling and battering 40 minutes of rugby, neither side giving an inch and Portugal having the better attacking opportunities.
