Black Leopards prowl on Milford in latest MFC gameweek
With a scrap for high positions in the Motsepe Foundation Championship beginning to emerge, second placed Black Leopards are hoping to apply pressure on log leaders Milford when they take on Kruger United at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.
Black Leopards, who are currently on a run of two consecutive victories in South Africa’s first division, head into their next league assignment three points off the MFC summit.
Lidoda Duvha have now bagged five wins from nine matches played so far, with their most recent result being a 2-1 victory against Cape Town Spurs at the Athlone Stadium last Sunday.
The Limpopo side are only bettered by Milford, who will take on Upington City at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Milford recorded a 3-2 win against Baroka at the Global Stadium last time out and subsequently took their tally to 20 points after matchday nine.
Elsewhere, Cape Town Spurs are scheduled to face Orbit College at the Olympia Park Stadium on Saturday.
Sitting in an uncomfortable 12th position on the table, the Urban Warriors were one of the most talked about teams in SA football media in the last couple of weeks, after frequently voicing their opinions on refereeing decisions that did not go their way this season.
Nevertheless, Spurs will now shift their attention to Orbit College, who are on a run of four consecutive victories in the league.
