Addis Ababa City produced a magical display of bravery and artistry to send shivers round the Betking Ethiopia Premier League world with the biggest upset of the season,  beating Fasil Kenema 2-1 at the Hawassa University Stadium Monday.

Addis Ababa' display was the orchestra and s Ghanaian striker, Richmond Adongo the conductor as they left no one in doubt about their intentions right from the Kick Off.

Richmond Adongo twisted and turned the Fasil defense after a poor clearance by Yared Bayeh sending Coulibaly to the floor with just Samake to beat close to the 6 yards, but he surprisingly scooped the ball over the bar.

Adongo had another chance on 15 minutes after exchanging passes with Ndale Kebede but he couldn't beat  Samake in goal for Fasil but he was able to test Samake  with a ferocious shot

However, on 20 minutes, Samake was unable to handle a fairly harmless cross and opted to clear with his feet rather than his hands and Richmond Adongo rose high to power in his header for their first goal, 1-0 Addis Ababa.

Fitsum Tilahun almost made it 2-0 a few minutes later meeting Elias Ahmed's cross but goalkeeper Samake pulled off an exquisite save

They would not be denied for long and this time it was Adongo who passed on the right side to Elias Ahmed and this time, he picked his spot on the far side to shoot, beating Samake and Addis Ababa went 2-0 up.

Fasil pulled one back when Fikadu Alemu pounced on a cross by Samuel Yohannes  to net his 4th goal of the season but not enough.

Addis Ababa was relentless in defence as Fasil poured forward to try for an equalizer but Daniel Teshome in goal for Addis Ababa City denied them.

A huge win this was for Addis Ababa City and a wake up call for Fasil but even more, proof that this is not going to be a walk in the park for Fasil.

The biggest credit will go to Demisew Fekadu, Addis Ababa's Caretaker Coach who got his tactics spot on in this tie.,p>© Vandyke Sports
