Mekelakeya hold Ethiopia Nigd Bank, Hawassa and Dire Dawa goalless

Mekelakeya held Ethiopia Nigd Bank to a 1-1 draw in their Week 3 fixture and Hawassa City ended their encounter with Dire Dawa City on a goalless note.

Both BetKing Ethiopia Premier League matches took place at the Adama Science and Technology Stadium in Adama City.

Mekelakeya dominated early possession, but the Commercial Bank got the breakthrough on 28 minutes when Kitika Jima scored to give them the lead.

Ethiopia Nigd Bank took the 1-0 lead into the hallway mark and will hold on through the entire 90 minutes of the game.

However, in the first minute of added time, they conceded a Penalty which Minyelu Wondimu converted for Mekelakeya to bring the tie to 1-1.

In the second game, Hawassa City and Dire Dawa City could not be separated as their keenly contested encounter ended 0-0.

Hawassa remain unbeaten after drawing 3-3 with Fasil Kenema in week 1 and beat Shashemene City 1-0 in their second game of the season.

Dire Dawa on the other hand, beat Hambericho 2-1 and lost 0-1 to Ethiopia Coffee in week 2.
