Ethiopian Insurance shot their way back to the top of the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League with a 1-0 win over Hadiya Hossana
The win takes Insurance to 30 points, one more than defending champions, St George who are now second with 29 points though Insurance have played a game more.
It was a keen contest that failed to produce any goals for all of 90 minutes until 5 minutes of added time when Yared Dareza produced the match winner.
The league comes to an end of the first round after the games of this week and Insurance will hope St George fails to beat Dire Dawa on Sunday.
Insurance's showing has been a surprise for most fans of the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League because of the 2-7 loss to St George earlier in the season.
Earlier, the much-hyped fixture between Mekelakeya and Legetafo Legedadi was canceled because the match officials determined that the players of LeGetafo Le Gedadi Club were less than the number set in Game Law 3.
The matter will be settled when the League disciplinary committee meets to decide the issues emanating from this week.
