Hossana on the march, Mekelakeya derails Ethiopian Insurance

Hadiya Hossana beat Wolaitta Dicha 1-0 Thursday, and Ethiopian Insurance suffered another setback to their title challenge when they lost 0-1 to Mekelakeya in their respective week 20 ties at the Adams Science and Technology University Stadium.
Melese Mishamo scored the lone goal for Hadiya Hossana in the 65th minute of their 1-0 win over Wolaitta Dicha.
The win further reinforced the silent drive by Hadiya Hossana into the title conversation, and with 30 points, they are now 1point behind 4th placed Hawassa City and 7 points behind 3rd placed Ethiopian Insurance.
Insurance on the other hand,started their game on a high, creating the early chances and Habib Kemal came close to putting them ahead with just the Keeper to beat, he curled his effort on to the post.
However, it became the game that brought out the experience of Insurance's goalkeeper, Abubekher Nuri.
Nuri foiled Mekelakeya repeatedly for the remainder of the first half and to his credit, both teams went into the break at 0-0.
Mekelakeya had a chance to go ahead on 51 minutes through Minyelu Wondimu, but his shot was weak, and Nuri gathered the ball easily.
Simon Peter who has been scoring for Insurance in recent games, has a great chance to break the deadlock in the 58th minute but this final ball was too tame for the Keeper.
Bereket Desta came face to face to Abubekher Nuri in the 78th minute but failed to deliver the Killer punch.
Eshetu was foiled by Nuri on 82 minutes, but he was eventually beaten in the 90th minute is spectacular fashion.
Dawit Mamo delivered a stunning freekick from a long way outside the box evading all the defenders and bouncing off just in front of Abubekher Nuri and into the net, 1-0 it finished for a famous Mekelakeya victory.
