Emanuel Navarette (38-1-1; 31) and Denys Berinchyk (18-0; 9) meet for the vacant WBO lightweight title on Saturday at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, USA.

Navarette, 29, won the WBO junior featherweight title in 2018 when he outpointed Isaac Dogboe and then made five successful defences before going on to capture the vacant WBO featherweight title with a 12-round points win over Ruben Villa in October 2020.

He made three successful defences of the title and moved up a division to win the vacant WBO junior lightweight title after suffering a knockdown against Liam Wilson, and winning on a ninth-round stoppage in February last year.

In August of the same year, he won against Oscar Valdez but in his most recent fight he fought to a draw against Robson Conceicao in Las Vegas in November last year.

Berinchyk, 36, from the Ukraine, won the European title in December 2022 on a unanimous 12-round points decision against Yvan Mendy.

In his most recent fight in August last year, he won on points against Anthony Yigit in Poland.

Navarette has moved through the weight decisions and should win on points.

On the undercard in a 12-round welterweight contest Giovani Santillan (32-09; 17) meets Brian Norman Jr (25-0; 19).

Santillan is coming off a good win against Alexis Rocha in six rounds to capture the WBO NABO title.

Santillan is the favourite to win on points.
