Pretoria Callies and Richards Bay maintained their good form in the GladAfrica Championship on matchday 12.

In-form Callies recorded their fourth successive win in the league when they overcame Cape Town All Stars 2-1 in the Mother City on Sunday.

The victory took Callies to fifth place on the log - two points behind joint-leaders Sekhukhune United and Richards Bay.

Richards Bay were also in action on Sunday as they extended their unbeaten run to eight matches when they thumped bottom-placed Bizana Pondo Chiefs 4-1 at home.

The rest of the matches were played on Saturday with Sekhukhune being held to a 1-1 draw by the University of Pretoria, who netted through Samuel Julies in Tembisa.

Promotion hopefuls JDR Stars moved up to third place on the standings after Siphelo Baloni's solitary goal earned them a 1-0 win over Uthongathi FC at the Giant Stadium.

Relegation-threatened Cape Town Spurs saw their three-match unbeaten run come to an end when they suffered a 2-0 defeat to TS Sporting in Mpumalanga.

Spurs' Cape rivals, Steenberg United, extended their winless run to three matches when they drew 1-1 with Polokwane City at home.

At the Chatsworth Stadium, coach Floyd Mogale guided Royal AM to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Cape Umoya United, who are now winless in three matches.

Lastly, Free State Stars edged out fellow former top-flight league side Jomo Cosmos 2-1 at the Profert Olen Park.
