Allrounder Bjorn Fortuin took six wickets as the DP World Lions snatched a thrilling 28-run victory against Six Gun Grill Western Province in their 4-Day Franchise Series encounter on Wednesday.

Fortuin struck early as Jonathon Bird was deceived and bowled out for five as WP needed 208 runs at lunch.

A century stand by Edward Moore and Daniel Smith looked to have placed the game in the hands of the visitors at DP World Wanderers.

However, Fortuin got the breakthrough as he bowled Moore out following a well-played 59 off 97 balls (hitting eight fours and a six).

Zubayr Hamza, who scored 129 in the first innings, didn't last long as he got a fine edge behind off the bowling of Codi Yusuf for five.

Smith brought up his maiden first-class half-century before he was caught after sweeping Fortuin and was caught for 61 off 93 balls (hitting 10 fours and a six).

Fortuin was supported by Sisanda Magala, who took three for 26, which included the wickets of Aviwe Mgijima (10), Mihlali Mpongwana (8) and Tshepo Moreki (4).

However, the day belonged to Fortuin, who bamboozled the Western Province batting order as he ended on 6-69.

Fortuin, who scored an unbeaten 123 and 65 with the bat, tore through WP's middle order as the side was restricted to 187 all out.

CLINICAL DOLPHINS CRUISE TO WIN OVER TITANS

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins sealed a seven-wicket victory against the Momentum Multiply Titans on the final day of the CSA 4-Day Franchise Series at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead.

The Dolphins required only 46 runs to win and got over the line in less than an hour on 51-3.

Resuming the day on 5-0, all-rounder Donavon Ferreira was the only Titans bowler that did any damage at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead.

Ferreira took back-to-back wickets, trapping LBW opener Sarel Erwee for 11 and then getting Marques Ackerman out on the pads for a golden duck.

Bryce Parsons scored 25 off 45 balls (hitting two fours) as he got a fine edge off Ferreira to first slip.

Khaya Zondo (9*) and Jason Smith (4*) helped steer the Dolphins to victory at home.

Earlier in the match, all-rounder Jon-Jon Smuts took a five-wicket haul as the Titans were bowled out for 138.

Neil Brand stood tall for the Titans, scoring 50 off 151 balls (hitting two fours and sixes) before he was run out as the Titans could only manage a lead of 51 runs.

Smuts took five for 67, while Prenelan Subrayen took four for 45 in a superb bowling effort from the hosts.

Jason Smith hit 82 off 222 balls as the Dolphins posted 253 in their first innings.

The Titans had a horrid display with the bat as they were bundled out for 165 in the first innings.

MPUNGOSE HANDS KNIGTS VICTORY AT ST GEORGE'S

The Knights sealed a 161-run win as the Dafabet Warriors were bundled out for 284 at St George's Park in their CSA 4-Day Franchise Series encounter.

Nhlakanipho Mpungose took four for 46, while Nealan van Heerden (3/42) and Aubrey Swanepoel (3/62) also contributed to the Knights' emphatic victory.

Resuming on 167-2, the Warriors looked like they could salvage a draw, but a batting collapse soon occurred.

A 173-run partnership between Matthew Breetzke and Rudi Second looked to keep the hosts in the game before Second was trapped LBW by Aubrey Swanepoel and departed for 77 off 146 balls (hitting eight fours and a six).

Breetzke stood tall with a century as he ended on 111 off 213 balls (hitting nine fours and a six) before he was trapped LBW by Van Heerden.

After being 251-3, a middle-order batting collapse put the hosts on the back foot following Breetzke's demise as Sinethemba Qeshile fell the following delivery for a golden duck.

Wickets tumbled for the Warriors as Mpungose wrapped up the tail with back-to-back wickets as the Warriors were bowled out for 284.

The Knights extended their lead to 446 thanks to a first-innings 81 from Patrick Kruger and 93 from Gihahn Cloete as they posted 422.

The Warriors replied with a batting collapse as they were restricted to 134 all out.
