An entertaining contest in the Mother City not only delivered six goals, but also two red cards and three penalties. Things looked good for Bakgaga when Dan Ndlovu opened the scoring 10 minutes before halftime.

But a second-half blitz from Eric Tinkler's side turned the match on its head as goals from Khanyisa Mayo, Mduduzi Mdatsene (brace), Craig Martin and Tashreeq Morris handed them all three points.

A frenetic start to the game saw Oscarine Masuluke called into action in the opening minute as he kept out Mayo's header from Mdatsene's cross.

The action quickly switched to the other end when the visitors were awarded a penalty in the third minute for Brice Ambina's foul on Sekela Sithole, who dusted himself off to take the spot-kick, only to see Darren Keet save his attempt and then deny Mokhabi seconds later.

Idumba Fasika tested Masuluke with a header from Mayo's cross in the 12th minute and Taariq Fielies could only hit the side-netting from an angle on the right at close range soon afterward.

Masuluke was required to save headers from Fasika and Ambina in the space of three minutes just after the half-hour mark, which proved crucial as the visitors broke the deadlock on 35 minutes.

Ndlovu collected the ball inside the area on the right from Sipho Maluleke and tucked his shot into the bottom left corner of the net for his first goal of the season.

However, the Limpopo outfit were dealt a blow in first-half stoppage time when Mokhabi was booked for simulation and received his marching orders, having already been cautioned earlier.

City wasted no time in capitalising on their numerical advantage as Mayo drew them level five minutes after the restart with a finish from close range after being picked out by Thamsanqa Mkhize.

Worse was to follow for Kgoloko Thobejane's charges when Sbonelo Ngubane conceded a penalty for a foul on Mayo in the 54th minute, with Mdatsene holding his nerve to put the hosts in front.

Two quickly became three as Mdatsene scored again five minutes later, heading past Masuluke to put the Citizens in command.

But the goalscorer would soon make his way down the tunnel after picking up his second yellow card of the game on 62 minutes, evening up the numbers once more.

City weren't done yet though, as Martin headed home a cross from Terrence Mashego on the counter in the 88th minute and Morris made no mistake from 12 yards out in injury time after the substitute had drawn a foul from Masuluke inside the box.
