Joined Mamelodi Sundowns as a co-head coach ahead of the 2020-21 season was at the helm along with Manqoba Mngqithi.

Took over as Sole head coach of Sundowns on 24th October 2022 during the 2022-23 season.

Won his first game 5-0 in the DStv Premiership on the 25th October 2022 a day after being announced as Sundowns soles head coach against Maritzburg United away from home.

Won a league title in all the seasons he was with Sundowns as Co-head coach in 2020-21 and 2021-22 as well as sole head coach in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Lead Sundowns to the AFL title in 2023-24 becoming the first team to win the African Football League.

Went 29 games of the 2023-24 league season without losing before defeat on the final day of the season by Cape Town City.

Won two league titles and the AFL title as Sundowns sole head coach.

Lead Sundowns to three Cup Finals in the 2023-24 season in addition to the AFL Final, they were defeated in the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup Final by Pirates.

During the 2023-24 season he went 21 games in all competitions undefeated at one stage (W12 D7).

Only lost six of the 58 games that Sundowns played in all competitions in the 2023-24 season winning 36 games and drawing 16. He had a win per cent of 62 across all competitions with Sundowns in 2023-24.

Went 53 league games undefeated with Sundowns from 2nd September 2022 after a 2-1 loss away to SuperSport United the final day of the 2023-24 season when they lost to Cape Town City (W40 D13).

In that run of 53 league games undefeated Sundowns kept 37 clean-sheets.

Sundowns won their opening 11 league games of the season under his guidance in the 2023-24 season on their way to a 7th successive league title.

Also oversaw a run of 15 successive league wins for Sundowns in the 2022-23 season between September 2022 and February 2023.

His Sundowns team kept 19 clean-sheets in the 2022-23 season.

Was Sundowns sole head coach in 93 games in all competitions managing to win 60 games, he had a 65 per cent-win rate. Only lost 7 games in open play as Sundowns head sole head coach.

Was Sundowns co-head coach in the 2021-22 season when the team scored 98 goals in 49 games in all competitions.
