In an effort to recover from their opener, AmaZulu will be hoping to collect maximum points as they take on Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in their next Betway Premiership encounter on Wednesday evening.

Kick-off is at 7:30 pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)

CURRENT FORM

AmaZulu lost their first match of the Betway Premiership against Polokwane City 2-1, with an error from goalkeeper Veli Mothwa making headlines as they lost the game at the death.

Kaizer Chiefs have given their fans hope for a better season as they won their opener against Marumo Gallants 2-1. Tunisian head coach Nasreddine Nabi kicked off his stint with the Glamour Boys on a good note.

WHAT WAS SAID

AmaZulu head coach Pablo Franco Martin has shown admiration for Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi ahead of the game.

“I know Nasreddine (Nabi) for a long time ago, we played against each other (in Tanzania) and I know how difficult it is to beat him,” he said.

“I’m sure that he is bringing fresh air to Kaizer Chiefs and any coach when comes to a new team will do anything like that, also he has experience on the other hand I think it’s going to be difficult because we know each other.”

“I think it’s going to be an interesting battle.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Etiosa Ighodaro, AmaZulu - The striker is on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns and has already opened his account in the Betway Premiership. He will be hoping to get on the scoresheet once again in this encounter, saying earlier in the week that he believes Usuthu will grab maximum points.

Bradley Cross, Kaizer Chiefs - The defender was named the Man of the Match on his Amakhosi debut and will aim to build on that performance. When Cross joined the club, he said that he’s happy to join a club with a rich legacy and passionate fans.
