Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the departure of four stalwart players ahead of the 2024/25 DStv Premiership season, including long-serving Uruguayan Gaston Sirino.

Sirino joined the Chloorkop club in January 2018 and made 211 appearances in all competitions, scoring 44 goals.

His influence waned in recent seasons but he played a role in all seven of Sundowns' recent title wins.

Bongani Zungu’s departure was confirmed as well after two seasons at the club in which he battled with injury and never quite managed to cement a regular place in the side.

He made 51 appearances and scored a single goal.

Kenyan defender Brian Onyango also leaves after four seasons having arrived from Maritzburg United ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

He also battled for game-time, but made 62 appearances with two goals scored.

Thabiso Kutumela was another player who arrived from Maritzburg United and now departs.

He came to the club in the 2021/22 season and made 38 appearances, netting five goals. He spent last season on loan at Cape Town City.
