Bautista takes first spot in Race 2 at Aragon

Alvaro Bautista claimed victory in Race 2, round 10 of the 2023 World Superbike Championship at Aragon, Spain.

Bautista started on pole and led until turn 5 when Jonathan Rea grasped his opportunity to overtake.

Bautista then found himself in third after being overtaken aggressively by Andrea Locatelli at turn 7.

Locatelli then moved past Rea on lap two to take up front position, hwoever Bautist stormed back into pole at turn six.

On the final corner of lap two Toprak Razgatlioglu demoted Rea to fourth with a swift overtake.

Razgatioglu and Locatelli then found themselves in a battle but the Italian was holding firm impressively, meanwhile Michael Rinaldi was given Rea a run for his money in the feud for fourth.

Locatelli's fantastic ride as cut short with four laps to go as he and Daniel Petrucci suffered mechanical issues to put them out of the race.
