Arrows edge closer to MTN Super League title
Red Arrows moved closer to the MTN Super League title with a 1-0 victory over Kansanshi Dynamos on Saturday to open up a 12-point lead with four rounds remaining in the season.
Ackim Mumba scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half as Arrows close in on a second league title win in three years and a third in their history.
They are 12 points ahead of second-placed Zesco United, who could only play to a 0-0 draw with Nkana FC. Arrows’ +28 goal difference versus the +13 of Zesco is worth an extra point, though the former can’t start celebrating yet.
FC Muza (46 points, +8 goal difference) are the only other team who can match their points total, but again that goal difference counts against them.
Vincent Oburu gave Napsa Stars a big boost in their survival bid as they defeated Green Eagles 1-0 to move six points clear of the relegation zone.
In the other game on Saturday, Forest Rangers drew 0-0 with Konkola Blades.
