With matchday eight of the Motsepe Foundation Championship now concluded, Milford once again moved to the top of the table following their win over Leruma United while Venda Football Academy recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

After suffering a 3-0 loss against Orbit College last time out, Milford leapfrogged their way to first position with a convincing 3-0 win against Leruma United at the Princes Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban, on Saturday.

As it stands, Milford have now accumulated 17 points from eight matches played.

Milford’s move up the table was supplemented by Durban City and Upington City suffering defeats in their latest league assignments.

Durban City, who travelled to the Thohoyandou Stadium in Limpopo on Saturday, recorded a 2-1 loss at the hands of Black Leopards and subsequently dropped down to second on the log.

As for Upington City, the Northern Cape side jotted down a 2-1 defeat against Orbit College on Saturday afternoon as they ended the latest game week in third position.

Then, at the lower end of the table, Venda Football Academy recorded their second victory on the spin this season with an encouraging 3-2 result against Casric Stars on Saturday.

The Venda outfit have now secured seven points from eight games after a slow start to the campaign.
