Durban City lost crucial ground at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship this week, following their 0-0 draw with Orbit College at the Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The stalemate saw Durban City move onto 41 points after 21 matches played, while JDR Stars leapfrogged Orbit into second place following their 1-0 win against University of Pretoria at the Soshanguve Giant Stadium on Tuesday.

JDR Stars returned to the winning column this week after recording three consecutive draws prior to their game against AmaTuks.

As it stands, JDR Stars trail log leaders Durban City by five points following the latest gameweek.

Further down the table, Cape Town Spurs were unable to stitch two wins together this week following their 2-1 loss against Venda Football Academy at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Tuesday.

With no more than four wins in South Africa's first division, the Urban Warriors slumped to 15th place on the log with just 19 points accumulated after 21 games.

Venda Football Academy on the other hand, moved ahead of Spurs in 14th place on 20 points.
