Tricky Milford test awaits promotion-chasing Magesi
With Magesi holding a six-point gap at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table with three games left to play, Clinton Larsen’s side will now shift their attention to Milford FC who are unbeaten in their last five league encounters.
In yet another thrilling encounter in South Africa’s National First Division this weekend, Magesi and Milford are scheduled to do battle at the Old Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Magesi go into their next encounter off the back of a 2-0 win against Platinum City Rovers at the Isak Steyl Stadium on Wednesday as they continued their dominance in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
After recording two consecutive draws, second-placed University of Pretoria will look to get back on track this weekend when they take on Black Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday. On course to finish in a promotion spot, AmaTuks are closely trailed by third-placed Baroka FC, who are on a run of two consecutive victories in the league.
Sitting four points behind Tuks, Baroka are preparing to do battle against Marumo Gallants this weekend, with their clash scheduled to take place at the Global Stadium on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Platinum City Rovers will look to avoid the immediate drop this weekend when they take on Casric Stars at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium. As it stands, bottom of the log Rovers are four points behind 15th place Venda Football Academy, who are set to face Pretoria Callies in their next league assignment.
A victory for Venda, coupled with a defeat by Rovers will see Floyd Mogale’s side drop down to the ABC Motsepe League with two games left to spare in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
