La Masia, Mambas end tournament on a high

Popular Mambas FC redeemed themselves on Saturday in the losers final by beating Free Agents FC in the DStv eKasi Champ of Champs at the Moletsane sports complex in Soweto.

Agents went downs 2 -1 in a game which saw Tshepo Matete and Xolani Blackberry Nkala turn on their skill and flair.

Matete came on as a first-half substitute to the delight of the fans and he didn’t disappoint the masses.

Newly signed TTM player Nkala, who was operating on the left-hand side of the field, had the fans chanting his name.

In the second game of the day, La Masia and Beke Le Beke delivered one of the most entertaining games in the competition’s history.

There were nine goals in total as La Masia took the spoils 5-4.

Tshepo "Jomo" Matsemela stole the show, while Jose Garcia won the man of the match award.

Mambas and La Masia will pocket R 10 000 each for their efforts at the tournament.
