Rea and Razgatlioglu set identical Superpole lap times

Jonathan Rea will start on pole position at Magny-Cours WSBK after setting the exact same time as his title rival Toprak Razgatlioglu.

Razgatlioglu initially had the upper hand in qualifying as he set a time of 1m36.354s to take top spot from Rea, whose best lap at the time was 1m36.559s.

In the final five minutes, on fresh tyres, Rea clocked a lap at 1m36.124s to take first place. Razgatlioglu was out on the track as late as possible and managed to exactly match his rival's time.

Seeing as Rea completed his lap before Razgatlioglu, it will be the Kawasaki rider who takes first place on the grid, with the Yamaha man in second, while BMW's Scott Redding placed third, one tenth further back.

Alvaro Bautista was the best-performing Ducati and clinched a fourth place, ahead of Garrett Gerloff's Yamaha and Alex Lowes' Kawasaki.
