Warriors coach Dylan Kerr says he is going to have a migraine trying to select a team that will face Coastal United in the DStv Compact Cup final scheduled for Saturday at FNB Stadium (15h00).

The all-day event at the iconic venue will start with a third and fourth place playoff match between Dinaledi and Amabutho at 11h30.

Kerr's charges defeated Amabutho 2-1 in the semifinal last weekend at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium. Fans had voted for a starting lineup that time.

Now for the final match, Kerr and his technical team will select the lineup and fans will only make their voices heard in the second half when they make substitutions.

Kerr's squad consists of players from four top-flight clubs, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Swallows FC and TS Galaxy.

"Selection headaches as always are there in football, it is all about picking the right team [right starting 11]," Kerr told the website on Thursday.

"Now, with this Compact Cup it's massive. We are carrying Gauteng football."

The Swallows mentor is confident it will be a great day of football on the day. Warriors will be without two unnamed players who have tested positive for Covid-19.

Kerr stated: "We do not have any injuries. We will only miss two players who have tested positive for Covid-19."

On the flip side, Kerr’s opposition, Coastal United, which boasts players from Cape Town City FC, Stellenbosch FC, Chippa United and Baroka FC, cruised to a 3-0 victory over Dinaledi [made up of players from SuperSport Utd; Mamelodi Sundowns FC; Marumo Gallants and Sekhukhune Utd] last weekend to reach the final.

Warriors will be pinning their hopes on veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune who proved that he still has it when he produced an inspirational performance in the semifinal against Amabutho FC last weekend.

Khune had last played a competitive match in August last year when his team Chiefs were beaten on penalties in the opening round of the MTN8 by Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, last weekend he won the hearts of many football fans, and he proved that he is still one of the best.
