New TS Galaxy striker Mohammed Anas says he is determined to win the DStv Premiership Golden Boot this season following his move to the Mpumalanga club.

The Ghanaian forward has been playing in South Africa since the 2014/15 season, turning out for Maritzburg United, Free State Stars, Polokwane City and most recently Black Leopards, but has yet to reach double figures in a single Premiership season.

The closest he came was eight for City in 2018/19, and overall he has managed 32 goals in 90 stars for his carious clubs.

"That is my aim since I came to South Africa," Anas said. "I think I’m capable of winning the Golden Boot. If you check from 2016 the top scorer in the league has managed 15, 13 or 12 goals.

"Being around coach Shaun [Bartlett], my target for this season is to score 15 goals and that is what I am working towards."

Anas joins Galaxy after the relegation of Black Leopards last season and could make his debut against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.

"It has been great and marvellous being around all these guys here," he said. "We are like a family and that is what we need. With the previous teams that I have been with we were short of these kinds of things. I think here the unity is massive so that is great."
