Although their fate is not entirely in their own hands, Cape Town Spurs lived to fight another day in the DStv Premiership as they picked up three points by beating Royal AM 1-0 at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Tuesday evening.

It was one way traffic in the first half, with Spurs showing that they were determined to win the match.

The visitors did well to keep possession in the first half and looked to be dangerous with their attacking play.

Royal AM were doing a lot of defending in the match, but they did get a few opportunities to score, especially by the half hour mark where two attacking moves involving Menzi Masuku were quickly dealt with.

Thabo Matlaba also came close at the stroke of halftime, but his shot was blocked by Katlego Maphathe.

The second half followed a similar trend, and in the 64th minute a composed penalty awarded to Spurs for a foul in the box was buried by Gadiel Michael Kamagi to open the scoring.

The second half was highly contested, but the Urban Warriors did well to hold onto their lead.

Seven minutes of stoppage time were added, but they remained composed, learning from their last fixture and did not concede.
