Philly's wins for Mambas, Naseem and Soweto Super United
Soweto Super United launched their quest to win the 32nd edition of the Philly's Games with a 3-1 win over Gomora United at the Ema7 football grounds in Ivory on Park on Thursday.
This was the Soweto's side's first appearance in the tournament since the team's formation in 2017.
United were quick out of the starting blocks, scoring three goals in the first half, with the Alexander side responding with a consolation goal late in the second half.
Day 2 of the Philly’s Games in Tembisa… I’m here to watch the kids… And I’m seeing so much potential here. Some of these kids will be playing in GDL next season.

Meanwhile, an early goal in the first half was enough to secure victory for Mudagasi against newcomers Marashia in the mid-day kick-off.
The boys from Soweto now take a handy 1-0 lead into the weekend's second leg.
Naseem Aca 7 FC drew first blood in their first-leg match against Kathlehong’s Musa United with a 1-0 victory.
Crowd favourites Mambas FC didn't disappoint as a goal from former Ambassadors FC player, Nkosinathi Ononogbo secured a 1-0 first-leg win over MFDN FC in the final match of the day.
